`Ibrahim Ahmed
I was born in South Korea, and I have had an interest in photography for more than twenty years. I am influenced by photographers like Ralph Gibson and Walker Evans. In reference to my black and white photography, I am drawn to simplicity and tonality, as well as to grain and texture. I tend to photograph detail rather than the whole. I am also drawn to how images come together from the physical world into the art realm, which can be illusionary. I am fascinated in that photographs and artistic imagery are not always what they seem. When you look through the camera’s eye, the image always transforms into something unique when viewed in it’s final form.
